I can watch people make stuff all day. My job is capturing the moments of craftsmen making handbuilt cars, but watching people work with wood is just as cool
Even though I don't like the design that much, you did a fantastic job on this stock. Some timestamps for nerds: Determining Length of pull: 03:50 Determining pitch: 04:00 Determining cast-off: 05:12 That walnut quality is simply amazing.
Wasn't it just! I prefer a slight to medium coffee colour though. I think the coffee colour brings out the richness in the walnut. That piece of walnut did look superb though, didn't it?
beautiful to see result of many hours , I made a few shotgun stocks myself over the years and had to invent a few tools along the way to bore the stock for repeaters .Loved the challenge .Walnut is the strongest wood for impact / weight ratio .
Just returned from visiting MR and his incredible staff. Collectively, they produced a magnificent new stock for my competition shotgun. The people, the friendship and workmanship is 10 times better than what the video can possibly described. DB

how do you know how big and thick to make the piece you cut out for the comb, and when to go all the way to the point instead of making a short one like on a rifle ? Is there a standard or rule of thumb ?
